- Each item shows all activities that affected Inventory quantity and value. This makes it easier to understand how transactions during the period influenced stock levels.
- Identifying inventory trends and consumption patterns
- By comparing multiple periods, it’s possible to observe which items are used most frequently, when peak activity occurs, and which products require special attention due to seasonal or market-related factors.
- Monitoring current inventory quantity and value
- The On Hand Qty and Amount columns provide an accurate snapshot of remaining quantities and their value at the end of the selected period, which is useful for stock control.
- Supporting financial reconciliation between inventory and accounting values
- The values from the report can be used to verify the accuracy of accounting entries and reconcile with the physical stock.
- Inventory planning, demand forecasting, and procurement decisions
- Based on past activity, it’s easier to plan future purchases, optimize stock levels, and prevent overstocking or shortages.
- Providing documentation and audit trail for review and control purposes
- The report serves as a clear record of all inventory changes, which is highly valuable during internal or external audits.

Current Limitation in the Item Costing Report
The Item Costing Report currently has a limitation related to the display of Amounts per product within a single transaction. If a transaction contains two or more lines with the same product but with different Prices or Lots, the report will not show the exact Amount for each individual line. Instead, it will display the average Amount for that product within the transaction.
All technical details and configuration instructions for the Report can be found in the dedicated section titled Report Form.
